Gideon Cross. As beautiful and flawless on the outside as he was damaged and tormented on the inside. He was a bright, scorching flame that singed me with the darkest of pleasures. I couldn't stay away. I didn't want to. He was my addiction... my every desire... mine.

My past was as violent as his, and I was just as broken. We’d never work. It was too hard, too painful... except when it was perfect. Those moments when the driving hunger and desperate love were the most exquisite insanity. We were bound by our need. And our passion would take us beyond our limits to the sweetest, sharpest edge of obsession...

I LOVED BARED TO YOU. After reading the Fifty Shades trilogy, I was becoming more and more inclined towards erotic fiction, which I don't have the guts to read in public, but still. Then I stumbled upon Sylvia Day's Bared to You and decided to try it. I loved it, I gave it 5 stars as it was intensely beautiful, satisfying and all-together consuming, I loved Eva and Gideon.

Then when lovely Fran from Penguin told me about it's sequel, I was thrilled! I was so excited to continue reading about Eva and Gideon's lustful but dangerous relationship, I had to bug poor Fran all the time for a copy, sorry Fran! Reflected in You arrived in my mailbox last Wednesday and I was ecstatic!

Honestly, I preferred Bared to You to the Fifty Shades books as it was much more emotional, thrilling and bursting with lust. I don't mean to offend the author, but for me, Reflected in You was nothing like its predecessor. I loved Bared to You because it shocked me, sparked my interest and kept me going and going as it was so addictive. But Reflected in You was a bit toned down, and a whole lot complicated as we delve into both their pasts.

As usual, Sylvia writes fantastic, breathtaking, raunchy and delicious sex scenes. I have to give her that, I loved every bonking scene in the book, (ps. I'm not hornay, okay?) described with a flair that is only hers with the perfect pace. They were real, raw and toe-curling good. Do I sound like a pervert? If so, thank you.

Eva Tramell for me was a good character, but in Reflected in You, she wasn't as strong and independent as she was in Bared to You. However, she was rather clingy and desperate for Gideon, I understand how gorgeous he is and what a sight he is in bed, but for me, she became really desperate for Gideon, as he was really good in the sack, but still, you'd appreciate a little bit more willpower from a heroine. Ah, Gideon Cross, I loved him. I might even loved him more in Reflected in You than Eva.

Reflected in You was really fast-paced and I really enjoyed the storyline. When something gets better, there'll be a twist and everything will fall apart within a couple of chapters. I was really captivated by Eva's exciting, dangerous world with Dark and Dangerous. One thing really proves that Sylvia Day is a really talented author, the plot was very, very well-written and totally caught me off guard. Take a ride on the rollercoaster that is Eva and Gideon's life and you'll know what I'm talking about.

All in all, I really enjoyed the Reflected in You, but like I said, it didn't rock me like Bared to You, much to my chagrin. I had such high hopes for it, but was a little bit let down by the complication at the mid-climax. It was a good book, I really had a great time reading it and I will be on my toes to read the final book of the Crossfire trilogy, Entwined with You which will be out next year.

I'd like to thank Francesca Russell, PR extraordinaire for a copy of Sylvia Day's extremely addictive novel, Reflected in You and I hope to read Entwined with You in the future. Thanks, Fran and so sorry for pissing you off the other day!

  2. I quite enjoyed this part of the story (I read it in a day). It was a lot better than many middle books in a trilogy and had a lot of tense moments & excitement to go around.
