The blurb:
When I came across Never Google Heartbreak on Amazon, I was thrilled and really keen to read it. Oh, yes. I really really wanted to read it. Know why? Because on the Hodder website, it says: "Readers of Lindsey Kelk, Sophie Kinsella and Paige Toon won't be able to put this down. Never has heartbreak been so hilarious...". That was the selling point of it, promising something so strong and bold - this book is perfect for me as I adore all the three authors mentioned, so I knew I had to read this.

The blurb:
When her fiancé Rob breaks off their engagement for the third time, Viv does what any girl would do - she Googles heartbreak.
Confronted by tales of misery, she decides to set-up her own self-help website for the broken-hearted. But as Viv passes through the three essential stages of grief (denial, vodka, disastrous haircut), she becomes determined that it's not too late to try and get Rob back.
When things get out of hand after a drunken declaration of love at an extremely inappropriate moment, Viv's scruffy, tequila-swilling best friend Max is there to pick up the pieces. Viv starts to realise that maybe the real thing has been under her nose all this time, and now - one ex and a massive error of judgement later - she has to face the question:
What's the craziest thing you'll do for love?

I started on Never Google Heartbreak as soon as a copy arrived in my mailbox. *drops everything and picks up said book and starts reading* The moment I flipped through the last page of the first chapter, I was already hooked! I ploughed through the entire book within a day and half. Maybe it's because I miss Sophie's books as it's been ages since I read a Kinsella novel. Or simply because Emma Garcia is really talented and has entranced me with her writing. Well, one way to find out..
What I thought about it:
Have you ever read a book where you've fallen in love with it after a few pages? The feeling that you'll know it's an amazing book and you're bound to make every page count because you're love plot so much and the heroine is such a wonderfully sweet character? Well, this normally happens whenever I read a book by my favourite authors: Sophie Kinsella, Lindsey Kelk, Lucy Robinson, Ali McNamara, Gemma Burgess and a few more.
Never Google Heartbreak follows the story of a twenty-something girl called Vivienne Summers, who got dumped by her fiancé, Rob thrice. THRICE! Which leaves her broken-hearted and unsure what to do with herself and utterly lost. The book is about how she mends her broken heart and finds the road to finding true love. But what if true love has always been nearby all this while and you've been completely oblivious?
I really adored everything about Never Google Heartbreak - for me, every element in the book worked for me. I was really entertained throughout the book. It made me laugh and cackle like a loon, made my heart swell full of love when the romantic bits kicked in. One thing about the book I think I loved most has to be the heroine, Vivienne. She's really adorable, I really think she'd make an excellent best friend and life-time partner. She started off as a dependent, whiny and damaged girl whose heart got broken.. thrice! As the story progresses, readers are given the chance to read about how she's grown as a person and also a friend and lover.
The book is not your ordinary chick lit, though. Some parts of the book could leave you feeling sorry for Vivienne, whereas some could make you laugh out loud. No, literally. LAUGH OUT LOUD. A successful debut novel by Emma Garcia. I can't recommend this highly entertaining book enough - it's clever, witty and downright hilarious. I would definitely want to read this one again in the future! I would like to thank Hodder immensely for sending me a copy of this wonderfully enchanting book!
Verdict:
I really really loved this book. Everything in the book worked for me. I enjoyed the funny, laugh-out-loud moments in the book, I felt my heart swell with love and affection when Vivienne finally meets the one she loves and loves her back. A sparkling and wonderfully amusing book which will leave you wanting more!
I strongly urge you to get yourself a copy. I loved it. Click here to buy now!
