Blurb:
Amelia has a dream: toasting chestnuts by the fire with her husband Jack in their own cosy cottage. Their real life is another world – a cramped one-bedroom flat in Hackney. But when life takes a surprising turn, removal vans are soon heading to the Kent countryside.

They soon realise the cottage makeover is a far bigger project than they’d anticipated. On top of that, there’s Amelia’s newly loved-up mum and her tearaway half-sister, Mirabel, to contend with – pushing Amelia and Jack’s marriage to breaking point.

Amelia begins to strip back the wallpaper and fittings in the cottage and discovers the story of the cottage’s previous owner – and a hidden secret. As Amelia’s ideas about love and family change, will her fireside dream finally come true?

Why you would love this:
I really enjoyed Abby Clements's first two books, which were simply magical and unique with its own charm! Earlier this year, I read and loved Vivien's Heavenly Ice Cream Shop and I was beyond thrilled when I found out that Abby will be releasing another book this year - Amelia Grey's Fireside Dream!

Amelia Grey's Fireside Dream follows the story of married couple, Amelia and Jack Grey who have grown tired of living in London. Amelia has always dreamed of the lush countryside, beautiful and green, miles away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Immediately, they fall in love with a beautiful cottage, but at the end, they end up buying a different one - one that needs work. Serious work. With the project of making a house a home, Amelia's relationship with Jack is strained and results in unexpected consequences. Then Amelia stumbles upon an old letter, which intrigues her. There's nothing more satisfying than discovering the history the cottage holds, right?

I really, really liked Amelia as a character! She's warm, thoughtful and cherishes her friends, and also a dedicated teacher. I was at awe at how Abby created such a heroine - whose creativity knows no bounds. I am a fan of designing and arts and all, but unfortunately, I wasn't blessed with the talent, unlike my sister, but I really enjoyed reading about how Amelia managed to recreate the entire house with her clever ideas.

The characters were incredibly well-written. I really adored Amelia's best friends, Sunita and Carly - really lovely secondary characters, if you ask me. And the men, well, this book seemed to lack hot men, unfortunately, but I did have a lovely time reading about Callum! He's really helpful and friendly, I warmed up to him immediately!

Amelia Grey's Fireside Dream was incredibly warm and enchanting. It just shows, everyone can buy a house, but the challenge is making it a home! A gorgeous book which you'll want to read as it's as comforting as your favourite blanket. I loved it!
