Kenzi Shaw has her life scripted out down to the last line - the career she's building as an up-and-coming marketing exec, the gorgeous fiancé (Bradley) she'll marry in a fairytale wedding, the children they'll raise in her dream home. But when heart-breaking ex Shane comes back into her life, life starts going off the script...

Shane tries to win Kenzi over by re-enacting all the rom com movies they used to watch together - Sleepless in Seattle, Bridget Jones' Diary, Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing to name a few. He's just a guy, standing in front of a girl, asking her to trust him again. But has he really changed? Not only is her head in a spin over Shane, but now her job is on the line. And with her perfect sister in law showing up every tiny thing Kenzi does wrong, she feels like she's permanently in the corner.

Should she risk her sensible life for the chance of a Happy Ever After? One thing's for sure, when Shane meets Kenzi (again), she's suddenly not so sure just who her leading man is...

I was really looking forward to reading Love Like The Movies when I got an email from Victoria Van Tiem and even more so when she asked me to do the cover reveal of the UK edition. GORGEOUS, if you ask me!

Love Like The Movies follows the story of Kensington “Kenzi” Shaw who has never been anything but ordinary. Her family doesn’t take her seriously and she is constantly outshone by her big brother and her sister-in-law. What Kenzi really wants in life is love, like the movies. She has found her romantic comedy leading man, but why does she feel that she’s still missing something? Out of the blue, a blast from the past crashes back into her life in the form of her ex-boyfriend, Shane. Will Kenzi’s carefully written script suddenly go awry? Or will it be another chance for her to get her happy ever after?

If you’re a fan of romantic comedies, then this book is up your street! Filled with scenes from famous, well-loved rom coms, Love Like The Movies will definitely make you ooh and ahh at the re-enactments! Shane goes all out to prove that he’s determined to star in Kenzi’s real life romantic comedy and I fell in love with him more after every film re-enactment. I think the entire premise of the novel is spot-on and very clever. Victoria Van Tiem cleverly blends in the famous romantic comedy scenes into the plot and I’m telling you, she made it work.

I really like the characters in the book, especially Shane. Oh dear me, he is DREAMY and dishy. I was definitely on Team Shane right from the start, though there’s a bit of a love triangle in the book, but that adds more drama to the plot and it’s just delicious. I tried to like Bradley as a character, but man alive, that guy is seriously unlikable. Don’t you just hate a smooth operator? Hun, hun, hun. NO. The supporting characters were well-written, I really liked and warmed up to Ellie, and I hated Tonya, that two-faced cow. Let’s talk about the heroine now. Hmm. Kenzi, I guess she’s me, when it comes to rom coms. I love chick lit and romantic comedies and I could relate to her so much when she wants to falls in love like the heroines do in movies.

I really enjoyed the underlying love story. Love Like The Movies is definitely a fabulous tale of following your heart and truly believing those who love you. With a sublime ending fit for a rom com heroine – the crème de la crème of every love story, I whooped and cheered for Kenzi when she finally got her happy ever after. An exceptional debut by Victoria Van Tiem – a fresh voice in chick lit and one to be watched. Perfect for fans of classic romantic comedies and heart-warming declarations of love.
