As part of the blog tour, I Heart.. Chick Lit interviews the lovely Melissa Hill, who has 14 novels (and counting!) under her belt, including her latest book, A Gift to Remember, which I loved! I have the privilege to interview her and here's what we talked about.
1. Could you describe A Gift to Remember in 5 words?
Books, dogs, romance in NYC.

2. What can your readers, new and old, expect from this book?
It’s a romantic and hopefully intriguing tale set in New York City featuring some loveable characters, a very cute dog and some surprises along the way.

3. There's always an unexpected twist in your books, what's your secret in crafting a plot twist?
When I start writing, I’m never quite sure what the twist is going to be and hope that it reveals itself to me at some point in the writing. I’m always trying to find ways to turn an everyday situation on its head and hope that if I find this fun to do, then readers will too.

4. Your recent novels are mostly set in Manhattan. Is there a reason by it? Does NYC have your heart?
I adore NYC. It’s such an inspirational place, with stories on every corner. I’ve had many amazing experiences there and love to try and bring alive on the page some of the magic of the city.

5. How did you find writing from a male character's perspective?
I’m lucky in that my husband is always the very first reader of my manuscripts, so he helps me get into the head of my male characters and lets me know if I’m on the right track.
