Blurb:
Veronica Summer is stuck in the dream job from hell.

The spunky New York reporter is offered the network's morning anchor position, but she doesn't want it because she's a night person. Then the network plays a trump card, promising her the evening anchor chair in three years. So the fiery redhead takes the plunge, with the ultimate gig waiting down the road.

Problem is, that road is filled with two am wake-up calls and the only social life she has is one with bats and raccoons. She quickly realizes she'll never survive the grind and decides the only way out is to get fired by being her snarky self on live television.

And the ratings skyrocket.

Veronica becomes the nation's It Girl, so the network makes her a celebrity contestant on its most popular nighttime dance competition show, Dance Off. While her journalistic credibility is shot to hell by the show's skimpy costumes, she's thrown into close contact with two incredibly attractive men; her dance partner and the show's sarcastic British judge.

And she soon discovers that love is the ultimate gig.

Well, this goes without saying that the extremely talented Nic Tatano is my go-to guy for chick lit or any sort of feel-good romantic comedy. I thought his debut novel, Wing Girl was the amazeballs, like really, I still think about it from time to time and I have yet to get over the dashing hero that is Vincent. So, on to his new one, It Girl, like all his previous books, was another exciting new read for me.

The book follows the story of Veronica Summer, a hard-hitting journalist, who gets a chance of snapping up the job of the evening news anchor, but before that, she has to go through hell and back by working as the morning news anchor first. Fed up with the erratic working hours and lack of social life, she decides to get herself fired by having a massive breakdown (VERY snarky and snappy – think Hurricane Veronica) but by doing so, it’s had the undesired effect. The ratings hit the roof and suddenly she becomes the network’s “It Girl” and one thing led to another, she finds herself participating in her network’s popular dance reality show. Add in two delectable hunks, and what have you got? More to the point, I would like to point out that I didn't get enough of romance in the book. I was actually gagging for more. I love it when characters fall in love and realise that all this while, they were with the "One" and all that.

The thing I love most about Nic Tatano’s books is the heroines. If you haven’t noticed, all his heroines are redheads! Coincidence, I think not. Ha! They are independent, fierce and snarky. Most of Nic’s books are related to the news industry, which is really a wonderful experience to read about. Before this, I didn’t know how ratings were counted, and for that, thank you, Nic! Like its predecessors, It Girl is just as enjoyable.

Once again, Nic Tatano delivers another sassy, entertaining read which will make you laugh and cheer for the heroine. Filled with New Yorkisms, It Girl will no doubt be a book you'll get hooked on, I know I was. There's the possibly love-triangle which will keep you guessing, but nevertheless, the ending was anything but predictable.

Emma Stone as the spunky redhead, Veronica and Tom Hardy as the sexy British hunk!
