Blurb:
Delia Moss isn’t quite sure where she went wrong.

When she proposed and discovered her boyfriend was sleeping with someone else – she thought it was her fault.

When she realised life would never be the same again – she thought it was her fault.

And when he wanted her back life nothing had changed – Delia started to wonder if perhaps she was not to blame...

From Newcastle to London and back again, with dodgy jobs, eccentric bosses and annoyingly handsome journalists thrown in, Delia must find out where her old self went – and if she can ever get her back.

Mhairi McFarlane (pronounced as “Vah-Ree”) has consistently written back-to-back novels which are absolutely to die for. Showcasing her talents as a storyteller with her witty one-liners and insanely likeable and relatable heroines, she’s back this year with It’s Not Me, It’s You which is her first time in hardcover!

It’s Not Me, It’s You follows the story of Delia Moss, a council worker who lives in Newcastle with her long-term boyfriend, Paul and her estranged family, in separate houses, if you’re wondering. When she proposes to her Paul, he agrees reluctantly to settle down. Then she receives a text from Paul, which is supposed to be sent to the Other Woman. With her life in tatters, she decides impulsively to move to London to live with her friend, to start anew. But is running away to London the solution to all her problems?

I think it’s pretty clear that I’m a fan of Mhairi McFarlane’s books and It’s Not Me, It’s You is no exception. In her latest book, Mhairi McFarlane once again proves that she is extremely talented and her books are utterly irresistible. In It’s Not Me, It’s You, it’s another success, in my books, because I cannot believe she has written ANOTHER fantastic book.

The heroine, Delia Moss is just a darling. I really felt bad for her when she received that blasted text from her fiancĂ© and all the while, I kept shouting “Don’t go back to him! NO, DELIA, NO!” and I totally on Team Adam. Oh gosh, don’t let me start on the dashing hero that is Adam West. (Please excuse me for my little fanboy moment) You will loathe him for his sneaky, cunning ways but then, you’ll gradually fall in love with him when he opens up about himself to Delia. You will also come across this amazing person in the book, who is funny on every level and equally cool. Behold, the one and only Peshwari Naan a.k.a The Naan!

It’s Not Me, It’s You is not your ordinary love story. No, it isn’t. It’s much more than that. It’s about finding yourself in the most undesired circumstances and dealing with them, all the while discovering what you really want in life. Cleverly plotted with one of the loveliest endings I’ve read, you’ll be blown away by this gem. It’s the perfect mix of romance, humour, suspense, a teeny bit of action and lots of laughs – it’s pure comic genius. Exceptionally funny and truly delightful, I find it really difficult to express my feelings towards this book and I really do hope my review does the book justice. Laugh-out-loud, feel-good and an absolute sparkling treat for fans old and new.

The fabulous Emma Stone as Delia and the utterly charming Andrew Garfield as Adam
