As part of the blog tour to celebrate Joanna Bolouri's new book, I Followed the Rules, we have an interview with the lady whose debut novel, The List, had me in stitches when I read it last year! Here's what we talked about!
1. Could you describe I Followed the Rules in less than 10 words?
Unconventional single mother agrees to follow obnoxious dating guide.
2. What inspired you to write I Followed the Rules?
My sister gave me a copy of The Rules by Ellen Fein and I thought it would be funny to try and follow this. I lasted about 3 days but the idea sprung from this.
3. Which actress would be the perfect heroine for you?
For the character of Cat, I’d like to see someone like Ashley Jensen. I love her.
4. Do you write what you read?
Not at all. I generally read horror but I’m pushing myself to read different genres these days.
5. What is your usual writing day like?
I take my daughter to school, do coffee/emails/Twitter until 10 and then stare at a blank document until I collect my daughter. After she’s in bed, I start writing around half nine because that’s when my brain decides to work.
6. Quickfire Round!
