Stars above! I finally read Marissa Meyer’s Stars Above because I can never get enough of what she writes. The Lunar Chronicles has to be one of my all-time favourite series and I just craved for more every time I finished one of the books in the series. I finished Winter earlier this year and I didn’t realize how much I have missed the series until I turned the first page of Stars Above.

As you probably know, Stars Above is a collection of short stories, some that have never been published and some which you’ve probably read as the bonus content in certain books in the series. There’s the story of how Michelle Benoit hid Cinder in her basement when she was first brought to Earth, Winter and Jacin’s story as children in Artemisia, young and cheeky Carswell Thorne and even a wedding at the end to wrap up the entire series!

I would definitely recommend you to read the other books in the series before reading Stars Above because the stories in Stars Above will give you more insight to what actually happened in the series, most of which were mentioned but not told in detail. I think my favourite stories in Stars Above would be Jacin and Winter’s as well as the wedding – I do love a good wedding story, you never know what kind of drama would enfold!

Each and every story in Stars Above was just perfect. They tied up whatever loose ends you might have encountered while reading the series as well as allowing our beloved characters a much-deserved back story, especially Wolf’s transformation from a small, timid but highly skilled cadet to a viciously trained killing machine.

Don’t get me started on the feels because I was so gutted when I finished Winter. Stars Above was just the perfect parting gift for me as a reader who enjoyed the series so much. There’s a kind of magic that is woven into each and every crevice of the stories in Stars Above and I just loved them all. Plus, there’s a sneak preview of Marissa Meyer’s next book, Heartless that has got me all excited like the Energizer bunny!

Stars Above is a definite must-read if you’re a fan of The Lunar Chronicles. If you’ve not read the series, I highly recommend it because it’s just an amazing retelling of fairytales that just enchanted me. I didn’t even like the thought of reading sci-fi but The Lunar Chronicles changed me. With equal parts of heart and humour, Stars Above was a nostalgic and heartwarming read because not only it reminded me why I adored The Lunar Chronicles but it gave me a strong sense of appreciation for the books again. Anyone fancy a reread?
